The Origins of the Comfort Bank Plan: Why I Created It
Most people build a business because they saw a market opportunity.
I built the Comfort Bank Plan because of something deeper—something personal.
This wasn’t a random idea.
It was formed through years of blue-collar work, being inside hundreds of homes, watching families stress over unexpected repairs, and living through a life event that permanently changed how I see time, money, and stability.
This is the real story of how the Comfort Bank Plan was born.
Growing Up Between Two Worlds
In school, I lived a strange dual-identity.
I was the kid with honor-roll grades who also spent a lot of time in detention. I wasn’t bad—I was just easily influenced when I was around the wrong people.
But one truth emerged early:
When I put my mind to something, I became obsessed with outworking everyone.
That’s how I earned my spot as a starter on the football team—not because I was the most talented, but because I refused to be out-hustled.
That same mindset would later become a pillar of Steadfast Agency.
My Blue-Collar Foundation
At 18, I didn’t go to college—I went straight into the trades.
Door-to-door sales.
Install helper.
Service tech.
Lead installer.
Senior technician.
I saw how households functioned when things were going well… and what happened when a major unexpected repair showed up at the wrong time.
I saw:
Elderly homeowners choosing between groceries and a repair
Single moms crying because their AC compressor failed
Landlords feeling overwhelmed
Families stressed during the hottest weeks of summer
And I always thought:
Why does the HVAC industry wait for someone to panic before helping them?
Why isn’t there a way to prevent the panic in the first place?
But the answer didn’t come until later.
The Accident That Changed Everything
When I suffered the motorcycle accident, everything stopped.
Diffuse axonal brain injury.
A coma.
Relearning how to walk.
Rebuilding myself from scratch.
I couldn’t work.
I couldn’t earn.
I couldn’t help people in the way I once could.
But that year taught me the most important lesson of my life:
Stability matters. A plan matters. Systems matter. Life hits without warning—it doesn’t ask if you’re ready.
That’s when the seed of the Comfort Bank Plan began forming… even though I didn’t know it yet.
Returning to the Industry With a New Perspective
When I got back into the trades and later started working inside at Daikin, I noticed something striking:
People WANT peace of mind.
People WANT predictable costs.
People WANT someone they trust.
But they rarely get that from service companies.
Most plans in the industry are:
Overpriced
Confusing
Designed to push sales instead of protection
A one-time maintenance plan (not real ongoing help)
I thought:
“What if I created a model that actually serves the homeowner first—not the contractor?”
What if I created something:
Predictable
Affordable
Transparent
Designed for long-term care
Designed for people who hate surprises
Designed for people who want to avoid predatory practices
That’s when the idea clicked.
Why the Comfort Bank Plan Exists
The Comfort Bank Plan is built on three pillars:
1. Protection from financial surprises
People shouldn’t go broke because of a bad week.
2. A better customer experience than any traditional service company
No upsells.
No pressure.
No manipulative tactics.
3. Building a long-term relationship—not a one-time transaction
Instead of “call us when it breaks,” the model becomes:
“We take care of you all year.”
It’s predictable.
It’s stable.
It’s proactive.
It puts the customer in control.
And that aligns perfectly with what I learned from my recovery:
Consistency and preparation beat chaos every time.
Why I Built It Under Steadfast Agency
Steadfast Agency isn’t just an HVAC-focused vision—it’s a leadership company.
A company built on:
Grit
Discipline
Personal development
Blue-collar excellence
An obsession with serving people the right way
The Comfort Bank Plan is the first product that represents what Steadfast Agency is really about:
Helping people live better, calmer, more empowered lives—one home at a time.
The Mission Moving Forward
The Comfort Bank Plan isn’t about equipment.
It’s not about maintenance.
And it’s not about selling.
It’s about:
Families
Stability
Peace of mind
Predictable living
Being prepared
Making responsible choices
Having someone in your corner who actually cares
Everything I’ve experienced—from detention, to football, to crawling my way back after a brain injury, to thousands of service calls—led to this.
This isn’t just a business model.
It’s a mission.
And we’re just getting started.
